Cherokee Nation Businesses (CNB), a wholly owned tribal company of the Cherokee Nation, is seeking qualified bids for a permanent hunting display within the newly constructed Cherokee Casino & Hotel in Roland, Oklahoma. LA 25-05 requires all Cherokee Nation construction and/or renovation projects $500,000+ to set aside 1% of the total project cost for the procurement of culturally appropriate art. CNB only accepts bids from Cherokee Nation citizens who can provide identification as such and artists previously designated as Cherokee National Treasurers. Description Our goal is to educate patrons about traditional hunting tools by featuring artistic elements designed by our Nation’s artists to create a three-dimensional Cherokee traditional hunting environment. The committee will consider submissions related to Cherokee history, culture and heritage. CNB invites artists specializing in traditional hunting tools to submit bids for traps, baskets, flint-knapping tools and points, axes, arrows, darts, blowdart gun, stretched large and small game animal hides, quiver baskets, carved gourds, pouches, and wooden workbenches. CNB will consider bids of other items that would enhance this display. Located next to a fishing display, the hunting display will have a background featuring natural landscapes in the Cherokee Nation.
