It is the intention of Owner that if an acceptable proposal is received, the selected firm will be notified in writing within 10 business days of bid opening. Any bid received after the time set for opening of Bids, shall not be considered and will be returned. It is the intention of CNB that if an acceptable bid is received, the Contract will be awarded by within 30 days of bid opening. Please note that winning bid(s) will be published. CNB reserves the right to issue one award, multiple awards, or reject all bids. All bids are subject to negotiation prior to award. Awards may be issued without discussion of bid received, and bids should initially be submitted on the most favorable terms from price and technical standpoint. Any award resulting from this Bid/Proposal will be subject to CNB Terms and Conditions. Your bid should indicate hourly ($) rate (when applicable), individual work effort, delivery schedule or time of completion. Any item(s) with exceptions, substitutions, exclusions, additions or qualifications must be noted and clearly indicated on return bid. Request for Commissioned Art Cherokee Nation Outpatient Health Facility, Tahlequah, OK Summary Cherokee Nation (CN) is accepting sketches for eight (8) commissioned paintings. REQUIREMENTS: ? Your bid will not be considered if you do not follow all of these requirements. ? Cherokee Nation law requires the purchase of art from Cherokee Nation citizens only. ? The initial bid request is to submit eight (8) separate sketches of Cherokee men, women and children wearing the following period clothing: o Men & Women 1700s style dress before European contact o Men & Women 1820s style dress, mixing European influence with traditional o Today’s traditional clothing - Children ? Use the same requirements below for “Adults” o Today’s traditional clothing - Adults: ? Man Boots – Jeans, Ribbon Shirt, bandana, cowboy hat with a turkey or hawk feather in the hatband ? Woman - Tear Dress, puckertoe moccasins, clay bead necklaces, rivercane basket purse with wooden handles ? Requesting sketches helps the art selection committee understand your style of work without you, as the artist, painting a specific subject matter, and then your piece is not be selected. ? If you have not done so via a previous bid, please include a photograph portfolio (Three (3) or four (4) photos) of already completed paintings. The theme doesn’t have to be associated with this bid. These photos will help the selection committee become familiar with your style of painting. ? Do not sketch/paint anything in the background; Clothed Cherokee images only. ? The winning bidder will receive $300 for each original painting, upon receipt by the buyer. ? The orientation is portrait. See below for a visual representation of these requirements. Quantity Commission Size Other Information 8 commissioned Painting will be awarded to one bidder 8”L (Eight in. long) 20”H (twenty in. high) The 8 commissioned pieces will be used on a tile project within the Outpatient Health Facility in Tahlequah, OK IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SKETCH/ART SIZES: • “L” is long, think west to east. “H” is high, think south to north. • It is strongly recommended the size of the bid sketch submitted be proportionate to the size of the painting being commissioned; 8” X 20”. • Do not pay attention to white space. Place your art within the middle of the 8” X 20” canvas. This size is required to fit a specific space within this facility.
